What’s up with Barry Allen?

Not that one.

This one.
The DCEU Flash’s Ezra Miller has been the topic of discussion lately with his possible termination being rumored at WB. This following an arrest after a bar scuffle. Miller was arrested sometime in the pre-dawn hours of March 28th after allegedly becoming “agitated” in a Hilo karaoke bar. Police reports claim the Fantastic Beast star was “yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts.”
And it would appear they this wasn’t his first time that we’ve heard about his fucktivity and shenanigans. From questionable outbursts online to violent attacks against other, it seems the scarlet speedster has a bit of an anger management problem. There have also been claims about his behavior from roomates and the like. Although recently the Hilo couple that previously filed a restraining order against Miller have since dropped it.
Now fans are calling for him to be replaced by the CW’s Flash played by Grant Gustin. Say what you will about the show or Arrowverse, Gustin is a lot less problematic. That’s not say the show or cast are perfect. Last year, actor Hartley Sawyer was let go after some controversial tweets resurfaced. He played The Elongated Man and had become a series regular.
Not for nothing, it would appear that the DCEU/WB have had other troubling stars prior to this. With Aquaman actress, Amber Heard having abused her then husband, Johnny Depp who was also cut from their films as well as Disney’s. And execs made the choice of canning the short-lived Cyborg film after Ray Fisher, I’m wondering what will become of the Perks of Being A Wallflower alum.
I try to not be one to do the whataboutisms but why hasn’t anyone gotten the Fisher treatment? He didn’t do anything wrong except expose the bullshit he had to go through on set. Call him sensitive or a cancel culture King but I don’t think he should be penalized as much as he has, especially when his claims were warrented against Joss Whedon… who I admit I am still shocked by. And considering how both he and Johnny Depp have been scrutinized… I’d say there has to be some favoritism here.
The issue that most fail to realize is that despite holding those in thr public eye to a higher standard, we place them on pedestals. They aren’t politicians or gods, they’re flawed humans like the rest of us. The only difference is that what they do is in display for the world to see.
Until Next Time Kiddies,
Shalom
