So I finally I got the chance to not only post a new YouTube video after an extended absence but a trailer reaction for the lates film in the Jurassic franchise, Jurassic World Dominion. Trust me, it almost didn’t happen. I ended up having to redo the edits several times over but I eventually posted… despite it was a day late. But enjoy!
Jurassic World Dominion is an upcoming American science fiction adventure film directed by Colin Trevorrow, who wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, based on a story by Trevorrow and his writing partner, Derek Connolly. It is the sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise, and the third film in the Jurassic World trilogy. As with its predecessors, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce the film, with Trevorrow and Jurassic Park (1993) director Steven Spielberg acting as executive producers. The film stars an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, and BD Wong reprising their roles from previous films in the franchise, and they are joined by Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Campbell Scott, and DeWanda Wise.
A few things I forgot to add. I saw a whole lot more new dino faces after rewatching, not just the feathered raptor or aptly named the Oviraptor. The T-Rex makes a famous cameo but yet again there is a bigger, badder meat eater making noise, the Giganotosaurus. It seems like he gives our buddy a run for the money dispatching him (or her) because we see a mosquito taking a drink from the corpse. I thought that was quite to easter egg as the mosquito was how this franchise began. Although the process is shown in the first film as an animated monologue, it’s cool to see. I’m guessing despite how ahead of its time the graphics and effects were, this wasn’t kind of scene possible with 90’s technology and the already insane budget at the time.
We see dinosaurs roaming in herds much like Grant and Sattler noted in the first film. Suffice to say they make their long awaited return in this film. Now that the dinos have been saved from the Island in the previous entry, the wreak havoc among humans. flipping over cars much like the safari scene in the first outing. The Mosasaurus makes a return, interrupting a crew amid a crabbing boat.
It seems like the word Dominion makes repeat showing that us humans no longer hold such over the planet as the top of the food chain. Overall, it looks like we are in for quite the treat and I am pleased to have made this video. Seemed fitting as I made my return to YouTube to chat about a film “65 million years in the making” returns. I have high hopes for this film… hopefully it doesn’t let me or you down as my last highly anticipated flicks, have been missed opportunities.
Until Next Time Kiddies,
Shalom
